The basic material for Plastofoam is polystyrene which is made of fine particles with diameters ranging from 0.2 to 0.3 mm. These small particles turn into large ones when are steamed, cross-linked and expanded under high pressure in a blocker machine they form main blocks. These blocks are cut down to smaller blocks that form the final products.
Almost 97% of the plastofoam’s volume is the air trapped in their cells. This is the reason plastofoam makes an excellent and light proofing material to be used in buildings for heat/sound proofing purposes.
